Earned Views, Wild Terrain

Uganda's geography is extraordinary. Mountains on the equator with glaciers. The source of the Nile. A valley that sees fewer than five thousand visitors a year.

Why Uganda

The landscape rewards effort.

Uganda's landscape is more varied than most first-time visitors expect. There are mountains here that carry glaciers despite sitting on the equator. There is a river here that is the beginning of the Nile. There are valleys in the far northeast that see almost no foot traffic and where the wildlife is extraordinary precisely because so few people visit.

Adventure experiences in Uganda are not curated or sanitised. They are the real thing: a proper mountain, a proper river, a proper wilderness. We design them into journeys that flow naturally so that the physical effort feels purposeful rather than tacked on.

Rwenzori Mountain Hiking
HIGH ALTITUDE
7 to 10 days

Rwenzori Mountains National Park, Kasese

Rwenzori Mountain Hiking

Mountains of the Moon

The Rwenzori Mountains sit on the equator yet carry glaciers. Africa's third-highest massif rises to 5,109 metres at Margherita Peak. The landscape at altitude is extraordinary: giant lobelias, ancient heather forests, equatorial snowfields. Trekking circuits range from three days to ten. The Rwenzoris are one of the least-crowded major mountain treks on the continent.

✦Africa's third-highest peak, Margherita at 5,109m

✦Giant lobelias, heather forests, equatorial glaciers

✦Multiple circuits from 3 to 10 days

✦One of the world's least-visited major mountain treks

Nile River Rafting
GRADE 5 RAPIDS
Full day

Jinja, Eastern Uganda

Nile River Rafting

Source of the Nile

Jinja sits at the source of the Nile. The river here runs fast: Grade 5 rapids internationally recognised as among the best white-water rafting in the world. A full-day trip covers twelve kilometres of river with multiple rapid sections, safety kayakers, and some of the most absurd scenery you will ever experience while soaking wet. It works as an add-on before or after Bwindi, since Jinja sits between Kampala and western Uganda.

✦Source of the world's longest river

✦Grade 5 rapids with international safety certification

✦12 kilometres of river, full-day trip

✦Perfect stopover between Kampala and Bwindi

Mountain Biking
BACKCOUNTRY
2 to 5 days

Bwindi surroundings, Southwest Uganda

Mountain Biking

Bwindi Region Trails

The roads and trails around Bwindi are exceptional for mountain biking. Red dirt tracks wind through community farmland, tea plantations, bamboo forest edges, and viewpoints across the valley to the Congo Basin. Local homestead stops. Expert guides. Custom-fit bikes. This is genuine backcountry riding, not a resort cycling loop.

✦Red dirt trails through community land and tea farms

✦Expert local guides on custom-fit bikes

✦Overnight stays at community homesteads

✦Customisable: 2 to 5 days, various difficulty levels

Kidepo Fly-In Safari
ULTRA-EXCLUSIVE

Kidepo Valley National Park, Northeastern Uganda

Kidepo Fly-In Safari

Uganda's Last Wilderness

Kidepo Valley National Park in Uganda's far northeast is one of Africa's genuinely unexplored wildernesses. Lions, elephants, cheetah, buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, and Karamojong culture at the park boundary. Fewer than 5,000 tourists visit Kidepo in an entire year. The only practical access is a charter flight from Kampala or Entebbe. Two nights at Kidepo is one of the most distinct safari experiences available anywhere in Africa.

✦Fewer than 5,000 visitors per year

✦Lions, cheetah, elephants, Rothschild giraffe

✦Charter flight from Entebbe in under 2 hours

✦Average fewer than 5 other vehicles in the park
