Uganda for active travelers. High altitude, red dirt, white water and wild terrain across eight days. Built to work either as a standalone adventure route or as a strong extension after gorillas.
This is not a normal safari. The Adventure Uganda Extension is for guests who want Uganda's physical side: Nile rafting, Rwenzori foothills, red dirt trails and the Fort Portal crater country. Each activity belongs to the geography, not to manufactured adrenaline.
It works either as a standalone active route or as an extension after a gorilla journey. Private guide, vehicle, logistics and daily adjustments keep the route controlled. The lodges are selected for comfort and access, not formality.

Arrive Entebbe
Lakeshore briefing and overnight
Arrive in Entebbe and meet your Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris representative. Overnight near the airport with a private briefing on the adventure route, fitness expectations, equipment and weather.
Transfer to Jinja and the Nile
Entebbe to Jinja
Travel east toward Jinja and the source of the Nile. The afternoon is kept flexible for river views, light activity or rest before the white-water day.
Nile White-Water Rafting
Jinja, River Nile
Spend the day on the Nile with professional rafting operators. The experience is selected according to water levels, safety conditions and guest confidence. Return to the lodge for recovery and dinner.
Transfer to Fort Portal
Jinja to Rwenzori foothills
Cross the country toward western Uganda and the Rwenzori foothills. The day is long but scenic, moving from river country to highland landscapes.
Rwenzori Foothills Hike
Rwenzori foothills
Spend the day hiking in the Rwenzori foothills or on a short mountain route chosen for the guest's ability. The focus is high-altitude atmosphere, mountain vegetation, views and movement rather than summit pressure.
Red Dirt Trails, Mountain Biking
Fort Portal / crater region
Ride red dirt trails through crater landscapes, community roads, tea country, or forest-edge terrain. The route is adjusted for fitness, weather and comfort level.
Recovery or Crater Lakes
Fort Portal / Rwenzori region
A flexible day for recovery, crater lake exploration, birding, spa time or an optional additional hike. Guests continuing to Bwindi can use this day as a transition toward gorilla country.
Return or Continue to Bwindi
Fort Portal to Entebbe or Bwindi
Return to Entebbe or continue to Bwindi if the adventure route is being combined with a gorilla journey. Your Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris curator handles the onward structure.

Essential Information
Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry to Uganda. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended.
The gorilla forest sits at 1,600-2,200m. Light layers are recommended for evenings.
Photography is permitted during gorilla encounters. Flash is prohibited.
