About 1,063 mountain gorillas remain on Earth. Every single one lives within a narrow corridor of highland forest spanning Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC. Bwindi holds the largest population. This journey puts you inside that forest, then gives you the day after to land properly.
Four days, three nights, one trekking permit, complete attention. The day after the trek is yours for community, birding and tree planting, not packed and gone. Your certified naturalist guide has spent years learning individual gorilla families by name. You'll know them before you reach them.

Entebbe to Bwindi
Road version: private 4x4 transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi through the tea hills of southwestern Uganda, a scenic 6 to 7 hour drive with comfort stops, lunch and a guide-led commentary. Fly-in version: short morning charter on AeroLink from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip (about 55 minutes), then a private 1 hour ground transfer to the forest edge. Either way, you arrive at Trackers Safari Lodge in time for dinner and a briefing from your naturalist guide on the family you'll track tomorrow.
Bwindi, Buhoma sector
Early breakfast before entering the forest at first light. Trekking time varies, 1 to 6 hours, depending on where the family has moved overnight. When you find them, you have one extraordinary hour. Your guide positions you safely, explains each behaviour, and lets the silence do the rest.

Buhoma community and forest edge
A slower day on the forest edge. Morning visit with a Buhoma community host for coffee, crafts, and a sensitively-framed Batwa cultural exchange. Late morning birding walk along the forest fringe with your guide (Bwindi holds 23 Albertine Rift endemics). After lunch, plant a native sapling with the community nursery as your contribution to the buffer-zone reforestation programme. Evening at leisure on the lodge deck.

Bwindi to Entebbe
A gentle guided forest walk in the morning, looking for birds, forest elephant sign, and medicinal plants the Batwa have used for centuries. Road version: private 4x4 transfer back to Entebbe in the afternoon, with refreshments and an equator stop, arriving in time for international connections. Fly-in version: short ground transfer to Kihihi airstrip for the AeroLink return flight to Entebbe.
