Overview
Gorilla habituation is the deeper gorilla product. The listed price is the road journey, based in the Rushaga sector of southern Bwindi, and includes one UWA habituation permit per person. A second habituation session and fly-in routing via Kisoro are optional and quoted separately. Habituation permits are extremely limited and must be confirmed before the journey is built.
Standard gorilla trekking gives you one hour. Gorilla habituation gives you up to four field hours with a family still learning to accept human presence, alongside the UWA field team and your guide. This is field-paced, demanding, and unlike a standard trek.
The journey is routed around the correct sector. Habituation is planned for Rushaga, so the lodge, daily rhythm and travel days are built around that sector rather than forced into a convenient base.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris representative. Overnight near the airport with a private briefing on the Rushaga route, the habituation permit, fitness expectations, packing and the road journey ahead.
Private Road Transfer to Rushaga
Entebbe to Bwindi's southern sector, full-day drive
Travel by private 4x4 from Entebbe toward southern Bwindi. The day is paced with comfort stops, lunch, refreshments and guide support throughout. Arrive at your Rushaga-side lodge for dinner and a detailed briefing before tomorrow's habituation experience.
Gorilla Habituation Experience
Rushaga, up to four field hours with a habituating family
Begin before dawn and report to the Rushaga briefing point. With UWA field teams, trackers and your guide, enter the forest in search of a habituating gorilla family. Once located, you may spend extended regulated field time with the family, up to four hours according to official rules and field conditions. Return to the lodge for rest, dinner and field notes.
Conservation Field Day or Optional Second Habituation
Rushaga, flexible forest, culture or optional second permit
Day 4 is intentionally flexible. Most guests use it as a softer forest day after the intensity of habituation. Choose birdwatching, a guided nature walk, a Batwa cultural experience framed respectfully, community coffee, cycling where suitable, or lodge recovery time. A second habituation session can be requested if another permit is available, but it is not included in the base price and is quoted separately.
Return to Entebbe
Rushaga to Entebbe by private road transfer
After breakfast, begin the private road transfer back toward Entebbe with comfort stops and guide support. Depending on flight timing, we can add an Entebbe overnight or quote a fly-out routing separately.
