Overview
Three forests. Three primate worlds. Eight days that move through Uganda's primate depth with purpose: chimpanzees in Kibale, mountain gorillas in Bwindi, and golden monkeys in the Virunga foothills at Mgahinga.
This is the multi-primate Uganda journey for guests who came for the forest, not for the safari brochure. Three permits, three forests, one composed route. Chimpanzees in Kibale, mountain gorillas in Bwindi's Buhoma sector, and golden monkeys in the bamboo zone of Mgahinga.
The route moves west and south with intent. Transfer days are paced with comfort stops and forest lunches, and the gorilla trek sits in the middle of the journey so the encounter is anticipated, not rushed. One dedicated naturalist guide and private 4x4 hold the entire journey from arrival to departure.

Lakeshore briefing and overnight
Arrive in Entebbe and meet your Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris representative. Overnight near the airport for a calm start. Your curator briefs you on the route, primate permits, trekking conditions and packing.

Entebbe to Kibale Forest
Travel west toward Kibale Forest, passing tea country, crater landscapes and rural western Uganda. Arrive at your forest lodge for dinner and a briefing on tomorrow's chimpanzee tracking.

Kibale Forest NP
Enter Kibale Forest at first light for chimpanzee tracking with experienced field guides. Kibale holds one of Africa's strongest primate concentrations. Afternoon at leisure or the optional Bigodi Wetland walk.

Kibale to Buhoma sector
Continue south toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The route moves through the highlands and tea country before reaching Trackers Safari Lodge in the Buhoma sector. Dinner and a private briefing on tomorrow's gorilla trek.
Bwindi, Buhoma
Early breakfast, then report to the UWA briefing point. Trek time varies with where the family moved overnight. Once located, you have one extraordinary hour with the gorillas. Your guide and porter support you throughout the day.

Bwindi to Kisoro / Mgahinga
A slower morning in Bwindi before continuing toward the Virunga foothills. The route shifts from ancient forest to volcanic landscapes. Arrive near Mgahinga for dinner and a golden monkey briefing.

Mgahinga Gorilla NP
Track golden monkeys in the bamboo forests of Mgahinga. This lighter but vivid encounter completes the three-part primate arc. Afternoon at leisure or an optional local experience.

Kisoro to Entebbe, road or charter
Return to Entebbe by road or fly-in routing if quoted. Your Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris team supports your onward travel arrangements.
