How do I book a gorilla journey with Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris?

Send us your travel window, number of guests and rough budget through the enquiry form or by email. A journey curator replies within one to two working days with permit availability, a proposed route and a written quote. Booking only happens after you have seen the plan and agreed to it.

Do you check gorilla permits before I pay anything?

Yes. We check UWA permit availability for your dates and sector before issuing any quote and before requesting any deposit. We do not take deposits against unconfirmed permits.

What deposit is required to confirm a booking?

Deposits depend on the journey size, lodge rate cards, and how close the travel dates are. The exact deposit percentage, balance due date and cancellation terms for your trip are written in your proposal in advance, so there is no ambiguity once you decide to proceed. We never vary deposit terms verbally.

What payment methods do you accept?

International bank transfer is the standard payment route for Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris journeys. Other methods can be discussed for specific bookings. Your proposal sets out the exact payment details, currency and reference, so you have everything you need in writing before transferring funds.

Question 5

What does per person sharing mean in your prices?

Accepted Answer

It means the price assumes two guests sharing a double or twin room. Solo travellers carry a single supplement, set by the lodge. Triples and family rooms are priced separately where available.

Question 6

Can I book as a solo traveller?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We compose solo journeys with the same private guide and vehicle as couples. The price reflects the single occupancy of the room and full vehicle, and we quote it transparently. Solo travellers are not pushed into shared vehicles unless specifically requested.

Can Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris hold a gorilla permit for me?

UWA does not operate a long hold system. Permits are confirmed against named travellers and dates. We can run a short, real-time availability check and confirm a permit quickly once you decide to proceed. There is no informal reserve.

What happens if my preferred lodge is full?

We propose a sector-correct alternative of comparable standard, with a clear note on the difference. We do not silently substitute lodges, and we do not push lodges that sit in the wrong sector for your trek.

Do you arrange airport pickup and transfers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Bwindi House Gorilla Safaris journey includes airport meet and assist at Entebbe, transfer to your first lodge, and onward private transfers throughout your trip. You are met by name on arrival.

Will I receive documents before I travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once your trip is confirmed you receive a Field Dossier with permit status, packing notes, route map, lodge contacts, guide introduction, briefing summary, and twenty four hour WhatsApp support during travel.
